Kutztown Lions Club Newsletter
October, 2009
Dear Fellow Lions,
Thank you to Lion Ray Fulton & his Charter Night committee for a terrific 70th birthday celebration
Saturday evening and to Lion Scott for a great meal! Lion Doug & son Matt put together a great slide
show of KLC historical moments. Congratulations to Lion Marty Kozlowski, our newest Melvin Jones
Fellow & to Lion Earl Smith, the latest recipient of the Lions of PA Fellowship. Both were surrounded
by family to share the proud moment. The honors were well deserved. Thanks for a memorable
evening.
Thank you also to everyone who helped with the Dog Show. The stand is now closed for the
year. We had a successful season, raising enough to cover our budgeted donations. Thank you to
all who helped.
Lion President Karen
Lion to Lion Lion Carl (Wimpy) Rahn is a patient at Lehigh Valley Hospital as of this writing. Please
remember him with thoughts, prayers & cards.
Ladies Night Clambake While a good time was had by all who attended, our attendance drops each
year. The committee wants to know if this is an event whose time has come to an end. Can it be
improved/changed or should it be dropped? What keeps you from attending? Please forward your
thoughts to Lion Karen on whether or not we should continue to hold the clambake. What could we
replace it with?
Visitations 4 Lions attended the Zone meeting hosted by Blandon Lions Club & 6 attended a Bowers
Lions Club dinner meeting. These visits give us a different perspective of how Club meetings are run.
We experienced 2 very interesting programs & fellowshipped with many Lions. Please join us on our
next outing. Thanks to Lion Marcus for setting up the visits.
Dinner Meetings Lion members are abuzz over the interesting programs we’ve had this year at our
indoor meetings. Dori Martin serves great tasting diabetic-friendly meals & there are good times to be
had by all. Why not join us & find out what you’re missing? And bring a friend – guests are always
welcome!
